Gwendolyn "Gwen" Blake is a young girl who lives in Colorado in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Inheriting psychic powers (as well as a devout Christian belief system) from her late mother, Gwen would often dream of past or future events. With the threat of a child kidnapper named The Grabber looming over the town, Gwen's visions would become known to the police, who hoped she would assist them in their investigation. Gwen would actively become a help to them when her brother, Finn, was taken by the Grabber, and she became determined to find him. Her visions of the previous victims would instead lead the police to the house where the Grabber buried his victims' bodies, rather than where her brother was kept. However, he would escape on his own and reunite with her.
Gwen would continue investigating the paranormal over the next four years, interested in ghosts and the psychology of her visions. After having repeated dreams of a winter camp her mother used to work at, Gwen, Finn, and Ernesto Arellano would travel up there to investigate. Finding out that the Grabber's ghost was in the camp and drawing power from his first victims, she would use her visions to fight him in the spiritual realm and send him back to Hell.
