The original run of the Doom Patrol that introduced the team, beginning with My Greatest Adventure #80 in 1963. After issue #85, the series was renamed "The Doom Patrol" and lasted until Doom Patrol #121 in 1968, with issues #122-124 being published in 1973 as reprints of earlier issues. All 42 issues were written by Arnold Drake and penciled and inked by Bruno Premiani. This run introduced the titular Doom Patrol (particularly the Chief, Elasti-Girl, Negative Man and the Negative Spirit, Robotman, Mento, and Beast Boy), as well as villains including General Immortus, the Brotherhood of Evil (notably the Brain, Madame Rouge, Monsieur Mallah, Eric Morden (later Mister Nobody), and Rog), Animal-Vegetable-Mineral Man, Doctor Tyme, Garguax, Mr. 103 (later Mister 104), Claw, Bug Man, two individuals known as Arsenal, Mandred the Executioner, General Zahl, and the Wrecker.
