As mutants—humans born with extraordinary abilities—begin revealing themselves to the world, Professor Charles Xavier establishes the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters to train them to control their powers and coexist peacefully. Among his first students are Beast, Storm, Cyclops, Wolverine, and Jean Grey, who together form the X-Men. Their mission becomes urgent when the Brotherhood of Mutants, led by the powerful Magneto, launches attacks on humans to assert mutant dominance. Mystique, Sabretooth, Rogue, and Gambit among others join his cause, forcing the X-Men into escalating battles that test their powers. Rogue and Gambit witness the consequences of Magneto’s vision and choose a new path, defecting to the X-Men and helping turn the tide. The team works together to stop the Brotherhood’s campaign, preventing widespread destruction and proving that mutants can protect humanity rather than threaten it. The X-Men are established as a heroic force, ready to defend a world that is only beginning to understand the potential—and responsibility—of mutantkind.
