Mutually Assured Destruction.
Happy English couple Jim and Hilda Bloggs lives are completely ruined when a nuclear bomb detonated by the Soviet Union destroyed their entire town. Initially they’re surprisingly optimistic about the situation, trying to return to everyday life. However the massive amounts of radiation start to get to them, which leads to the two passing away in each other’s arms at the end of the film. Before the credits roll we get a message typed out in Morse code, the only thing it says, MAD. Which stands for Mutually Assured Destruction, even the Soviet’s died from the explosion.
