In divided times, true love can conquer all.
Set in the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City during the mid-1950s, two youngsters fall in love in the midst of a rivalry between their respective street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds. This romance goes from escalating tension between their friends and family to tragedy as the star-crossed lovers try to stay together with their lovestruck chemistry blossoming with every encounter, even when it gets to the point where their well-meaning actions results in dire consequences.
