In an alternate version of 1960s Britain, the town of Wellington Wells and its inhabitants go about their daily lives high on Joy, a hallucinogenic antidepressant. However, a few inhabitants have stopped taking their joy, and are now sober to the twisted dystopia they find themselves in. On the list of "Downers" as they're called: we have Arthur Hastings, a local journalist, Sally Boil, a local scientist, Olver "Ollie" Starking, A war veteran, Constable Johnathan Robinson, a local bobby, Harold Anarky, a local doctor, and Jennifer Phillips, a local radio host. These 6 misfits are out to achieve one goal; leave Wellington Wells. Come and see this twisted tale of lost memory, drugs, and false happiness.
