Eddie Brock, the reluctant host of the alien symbiote Venom, returns to San Francisco seeking a fresh start after his defeat at the hands of Spider-Man. Reconnecting with his former flame Anne Weying, Eddie attempts to rebuild his life. However, his newfound peace is shattered when he senses the reemergence of his symbiote's offspring, Carnage, in New York. Forced to confront his past, Eddie reluctantly teams up with Spider-Man to stop the deadly rampage of Carnage before it engulfs the city in Carnage.
