The story of the Tudors. Part 1: Henry VIII is young and handsome and very much in love with his wife, Catherine of Aragon, a devout Catholic. Despite his numerous infidelities, Henry is very happy with his wife, and he dotes on his only surviving child, Princess Mary. However, he is very worried about his lack of sons. Catherine (who has had several failed pregnancies and is ageing) believes that Mary should be Henry’s successor, however Henry is positive that his daughter is not strong enough.
