My take on the story
2 years after Megatron was defeated, the Autobots now keep peace on Earth, and S.T.A.R.S is helping them in any way they can. However, while hiding in Bali, Megatron and the Decepticons discover the Insecticons, a new powerful breed of Decepticons who soon ally themselves with Megatron. To combat the threat, the Autobots recruit their own animal-based robots: Dinobots
