The story's overarching antagonist. Kowling was once the Academy's biggest success story: a young mage who found skill in her discipline of art and became a well-established author and public figure... But she let fame and money inflate her ego to the point where she refused to believe she was anything short of perfect, and when people began critiquing some questionable beliefs of hers, she flew off the deep end and turned into a raging bigot. The Academy revoked her degree due to her constant spewing of hatred and bigotry in what was, perhaps, her biggest fall from grace yet. Now, she's itching to wipe the Academy off the map as revenge... Even if it means taking the entire world with it.
