A "god" brought to the city of Qá. In reality, Varth is an old man who seeks vengeance, against the world he holds resposible for his wife and son's death. Varth possesses supernatural powers and knowledge of higher technology, which he uses to trick people into believing he is a god. He leads the people of Qá into numerous conquests over other tribes, and makes human sacrifices in his own name. Later on, Varth learns that Thorgal is his son.
