Description of White Owl ("Grace"):
White Owl is a young girl with pale, almost alabaster skin, whose name comes from her unusual eyes - big and clear, like the sky on a full day. Her appearance set her apart from members of the Blackfoot tribe, who took her in after the death of her mother, a white woman, in the face of unknown danger. Despite her difference, White Owl was raised as a member of the tribe, learning their traditions and customs.She is characterised by gentleness, sensitivity and a sense of belonging to the community that raised her. Despite her love for the tribe, White Owl struggles with the prohibition that prevents her from marrying and having children - because of her white background.
