A 34-year-old English colonist, widower and father of three children - 14-year-old Philip, 9-year-old Mary and 10-year-old Charlotte - is married to White Owl. He is aggressive and impulsive, severely punishing White So(who, after being taken in by the English settlers, was named Grace) when she fails to do as he commands or when she defies him.
