The police then ask Forrest and Brian what happened, where they look at each other knowing that they would never believe the truth, before answering: - Unfortunately these girls ended up getting lost, and one did not resist a fall before we meet. We took those two to safety place. Before the screen fades to black, the policeman asks Susan if that was true, and she replies that it is.
