Substitute teacher and action movie geek Matthew Kitts (Ryan Reynolds) dreams of being the hero for just one time in his life and having his own John McClane type moment. His prayers are answered when he is called in to be the substitute teacher at a local high school and coincidentally that same day, the school is overrun and taken hostage by a former CIA Operative turned international terrorist, Neil Thorburn (Ian McShane) who is being trialed for his number of horrible crimes against humanity. Thorburn wants all charges dropped and to have full immunity from his crimes or else he will execute the hostages. Matthew must know channel his inner Bruce Willis and singlehandedly stop Neil from executing any students or teachers.
