Tom Holland and Sam Raimi have stated several times that although this film is a sequel to the three preceding films, the film serves as a soft reboot to the character. Although the movie takes place in the MCU and after the events of 2019's Avengers: End Game this movie takes Tom Holland's version of the beloved character in a very different direction than the previous trilogy.read more
