The movie is about the next generation of skylanders as it begins by retelling the origin story of Spyro the dragon about how he became a member of the skylanders and how he left the Skylanders Academy along with all of his friends to find his parents eventually many years after Spyro’s absence’s Spyro received a love letter from his friend Cynder saying that she and the other skylanders miss him so when Spyro returned returned to the Skylanders Academy he and Cynder fell in love got married and then Spyro got Cynder pregnant with two baby dragons named Nina and Zoran who are the newest and youngest cadets of the Skylanders Academy where the teacher Hugo taught the twins to become heroes by showing them educational videos and giving them heroic challenges Hugo told Nina and Zoran are destined for greatness everything was perfect until one night someone broke into the Skylanders Academy took the twins from their crib and flew away into the endless void home to the evil Strykore who had brought Dark Spyro back to life and raised the twins as his own children for some reason Strykore wants to get revenge on the ones for banishing him to the endless void by corrupting the inhabitants of Skylands in order to create a army of villains to take over Skylands Spyro Cynder and the rest of the Skylanders must travel the endless void to save their two children from Strykore along with the rest of Skylands while Nina and Zoran try to figure out what is going on in the endless void
