The battle for Middle Earth has begun. Saruman's forces have been destroyed and for the first time there seems to be little hope. However, Sauron's power grows and his interest focuses on Gondor, the last stronghold of men, whose heir is Aragorn. Meanwhile, Frodo and Sam, led by Gollum, continue their perilous mission through Mordor to destroy the ring.
