In 1887, the acrobat famous for her beauty, Alice Roland toured Europe with her circus to show her shows. Arrived at the Paris Opera, Alice meets an old childhood friend, Aldrich, crazy about her, who strives to win her heart despite his declines. When Alice notices that an anonymous admirer comes to force the door of her dressing room to leave flowers there, she gets angry with Aldrich who assures her that he regrets not being the author of these acts. Soon, Alice discovers a presence that seems to admire her in the shadows: a ghost in love with a human. Alice agrees to date this particular guest, but he hides his true story and his real plans for Alice ...
