In 10th-century Scandinavia, Erik unearths a cursed map linked to his father's bloody legacy. His quest through frozen fjords and ancient ruins descends into madness, where folklore bleeds into reality. As he faces monstrous creatures and hallucinatory horrors, Erik must confront whether his true enemy is myth—or his own bloodline. In a desecrated barrow, Erik battles a monstrous wight—a manifestation of his father’s victims. Blood-soaked and frenzied, he slays the creature, only to find his father’s tormented spirit waiting. Their confrontation ends with Erik shattering Rurik’s cursed axe, breaking the cycle of bloodshed but forever marked by the horrors he’s seen. Erik, scarred and hollow, returns to his village. The people shrink from him, sensing the darkness clinging to his soul. At the shoreline, he casts the shattered axe into the sea—yet the crashing waves whisper his name, a promise that the horrors he escaped have not finished with him.
