Having escaped from an unsupportive household in the deep south, she is whisked away to the Chicago suburbs upon her adoption by Meredith. While still recovering from her trauma and adjusting to her new life with her new family, she navigates the life of what it's like to grow up as a trans girl while still exploring her own identity and self.
