Francis Xavier was one of Max Lieber’s most ardent pupils. He took his message to heart and rose through the ranks to become his right hand man. After Lieber’s assassination, Xavier was expected to take the helm of the Mutant Fraternity, but sudden in-fighting among its members regarding the “right” way to react to their former leader’s death splintered them in various opposing factions. Xavier is now the face for the Coalition of Wayward Young Mutants who uphold Lieber’s peaceful message, though Xavier’s idealism is tested at every step of the way.
