Having reclaimed dark castle and vast treasure from the dragon Eros, Maximus Catellan sacrifices friendship and honor in seeking the Royalstone, despite Eros' fiery wrath and desperate attempts by the humans Taran to make him see reason. Meanwhile, Elvenking sends legions of goblins in a sneak attack upon the kingdom.
