He is a philandering presidential candidate partially responsible for corrupting his wife and Anna’s father. He is unwilling under the control of his corrupted wife and is blackmailed to do her bidding. Through the miniseries, he didn’t seem to show any care for his daughter, but he later reveals to David that he truly loves her and was willing to submit his wife just to keep Anna safe.
