The series begins on the wedding day of Kiran Varma and Zoya Khanna. It is a merger of two of India’s most powerful (and corrupt) families. Kiran, an Afro-Indian (Siddhi-heritage) man adopted by the Varmas, has always been the "grateful son," doing the family's dirty work to prove his loyalty. However, the honeymoon period is cut short when Kiran discovers that his father, Vikram Varma, only pushed for this marriage because Zoya’s father holds the keys to an offshore account that hides decades of medical malpractice. As Kiran falls genuinely in love with Zoya—who has her own hidden rebellious streak—the couple must navigate a house full of snakes, secrets, and the sudden appearance of Kiran’s biological relatives who were silenced years ago.
