  • misterwolf Plot: Beth McDale is a young adventurer and hiker who has always wanted to go to the Himalayas. Her wish comes true when her uncle, Ryan, who is a scientist and a hiker, volunteers to not only go to Mt. Everest, but to bring her with him. While Beth’s mother Lillian approves, her father Henry is reluctant, as Everest is a dangerous journey, but is forced to allow it as he is not only divorced from Lillian, but has since lost custody of Beth.

  • misterwolf Beth and Ryan recruit biologists Mark Travers and Satoshi Saburou, Beth’s younger sister Amy, and historian Viktor Kosinvo. They then take flight to Asia, and they journey to the Himalayas. Their first climb ends with them finding severel human skeletons, indicating that other hikers had journeyed in the mountain but never made it out.

  • misterwolf Meanwhile, William Lincoln and Mark’s father Robert interview Lillian, who reveals that Henry had been telling lies about her, thus resulting in the divorce and she then took custody of their children. As they continue their adventure, Ryan discovers that he was poisoned during their first climb, but decides to conceal the fact that he is dying. However, Beth sees through this but chooses not to reveal it.

  • misterwolf The crew eventually reach the end of their second climb, just as Ryan’s condition worsens. Beth tells him that she knows, but they both dismiss a theory that one of their own did this, oblivious to Kosinvo eavesdropping on them, proving that he poisoned Ryan, revealing him as a serial killer. He discreetly poisons Beth, but discovers that he only gave half of a dose, thus not only running out of poison, but giving Beth better chances of survival. Amy, with the help of Mark and Saburou, tends to a frail Ryan and a slowly recovering Beth, and she slows the poisoning down with half of an antidote; Beth is recovering faster, but Ryan’s death is only delayed to a day due to how frail he is. Nonetheless he is able to carry on climbing until he has no strength left.

  • misterwolf Vincent, Robert’s brother and Mark’s uncle, dies of typhoid, while Mark’s mother Lana reports it to Robert. As the adventure continues, Kosinvo attacks the group and severely injures Mark. To save the group, Saburou distracts Kosinvo by sacrificing himself, giving Ryan the chance to weaken Kosinvo. However, Ryan’s condition is worsened by Kosinvo’s punches, thus causing him to collapse, before a near-fully healed Beth finishes the fight and stabs him with her grip hook several times before he falls off a cliff and becomes disfigured on the left side of his face.

  • misterwolf Beth cradles the dying Ryan, who urges her to push on during the adventure, and tells her that being her uncle was the greatest gift he had ever received. He then dies of his poisoning, and Beth buries him in the snow. Kosinvo, seriously wounded, tends to his injuries and vows revenge against Beth, who continues her journey with Mark and Amy as the end credits roll.
