Nearly two decades after Tony Soprano's mysterious death, the New Jersey mob is fractured and weakened, struggling to stay relevant in a world dominated by new forms of organized crime—cybercrime, cartels, and gentrification eating away at the old blue-collar territories. The story centers on Meadow Soprano (now in her late 30s) and her younger brother, A.J., as they wrestle with the consequences of their father’s life and death. Meadow, now a high-profile criminal defense attorney, tries to distance herself from the family’s criminal ties but finds herself pulled into their orbit after representing a new mob boss. A.J., still aimless, reluctantly takes over as a liaison to what’s left of the Soprano crime family. Meanwhile, Carmela Soprano, still mourning Tony, faces her own reckoning as she discovers hidden truths about her husband’s life and struggles to shield her family from destruction. The series also introduces a new generation of mobsters—including the children of Tony’s old crew—and rival factions encroaching on New Jersey. As the family dynamics unravel, old vendettas resurface, threatening to destroy what remains of the Soprano legacy.
