After witnessing his mother's strange murder and his father's wrongful accusation for the crime, Barry Allen is placed in the care of Detective Joe West and his daughter Iris West .. Barry becomes a brilliant but socially unknown forensic scientist working for the Central City Police Department. His obsession with his tragic past makes him separate from the people around him; he investigates cold cases, paranormal occurrences, and cutting-edge leaks of scientific breakthroughs that may shed light on his mother's murder case. No one believes his description of the crime — that a ball of lightning with a man's face broke into his house that night and killed his mother — and Barry is forced to look for clues for himself to clear his father's name.
