Fantastic Four premiered at Williamsburg Cinemas in New York City on May 4, 2015, and was released on May 7 in the United States. The film was acclaimed by critics with praise for its dark tone, direction, humor and character development, acting, pacing, writing, faithfulness to the source material, narrative, visuals and CGI, although there was some criticism for the musical score. It grossed over $950 million worldwide against a production budget of $155 million, becoming a box-office success.
