Idaville is like most seaside towns. It had rich families and poor families, a church, a synagogue, a mosque, a few delis, white beaches, and three movie theatres. But unlike most towns, nobody in Idaville, child or adult ever got away with a crime. Leroy Brown, nicknamed Encyclopedia, had been solving crimes for his father since he was 10 years old and since then the crime rate in town had been zero. When he's not helping his dad and the local police Encyclopedia works as a private detective for his classmates with help from his partner and bodyguard Sally Kimball, a tough new girl with a past she'd rather forget. Together the two of them solve mysteries and slowly uncover the secrets that Idaville worked hard to bury.
