Caesar Augustus was the first emperor when Jesus was born, and Emperor Tiberius was in power when Jesus was crucified and resurrected. Some emperors (like Nero) were determined to silence and persecute the Christians, some later converted (like Constantine) to Christianity and helped pass Jesus' teachings around the world throughout the rest of human history.
