Nivirya Xorlarrin, youngest child of Matron Zeerith Q'Xorlarrin, was born to be a paragon of power, a peerless blade in Lolth's hand—but the Weave had other plans. A House of Menzoberranzan scion's life is already a veritable nightmare, but if that scion is rejected by the drow's cruel demon goddess and yet a phenomenally gifted arcane prodigy, even the Hells would look like a safe haven. By 90 years old, Nivirya was desperate for a way out of the sadistic, twisted world of drow society, or at least a way to defend herself. That's when Xal'Zyrith, the god-slayer Hexblade, whispered to the young drow, and she gained both the power and courage to break from House Xorlarrin and forge her own path on the surface. But the Absolute had other plans.
