Haunted by the recent loss of his son, Jason Todd, Bruce struggles with overwhelming grief and guilt, while Dick Grayson, now Nightwing, operates in Bludhaven, distancing himself from his past as Robin. Driven by a vendetta fueled by twisted manipulations, Deathstroke launches a relentless campaign against Bruce, targeting both Batman and his civilian persona. Trapped in the nightmarish Arkham Asylum, Batman confronts a rogue's gallery of old enemies, grappling with his inner demons and the specter of Jason's death. In a climactic showdown, Batman and Deathstroke engage in a brutal battle of wits and wills, with Bruce ultimately prevailing but emerging forever changed. Marked by the scars of loss and burdened by his responsibilities, Bruce stands vigil over Gotham, a darker and more somber knight, resolved to continue his fight for justice.
