DC Comics created their own version of The Boys.
After key members of a superhero team are slaughtered in an alien invasion, the operation is shut down and many reserve team members are left to fend for themselves. An immortal spirit from the 20th century brings together the only two survivors of the team and a group of reservist heroes, forming a new team that sets out to exact revenge on their former boss, who sent them on a suicide mission.
