Having lost all hope and without a family, Japanese high school student Chise Hatori decides to sell herself to an auction in hopes of being bought and finding a new home. Just when all seemed lost for Chise, she is bought by Elias Ainsworth, a mysterious Magus with an animal skull for a head. The Magus brings Chise back to his home in Great Britain, where she embarks on a new life full of mystery, supernatural, and magic.
