Kaori was Estellas best friend since childhood, and was taken in by the royal guard as a kid when her parents suddenly passed away. (It was such a sad accident. Definitely accident and not planned.) When she finds her parents old journals, she learns about the true past of Kovalon and where her family is really from. She leaves for a kingdom unknown to most Kovalians, Mizuna. There, she can learn the truth about herself, magic, and Kovalon.
