Back in the new millennium that is the 2000s, WB decided to reboot the Superman franchise with the subtitle "Flyby". After many director changes and difficulties casting the Man of Steel, they finally hit the mark with famed Training Day director Antoine Fuqua, and newcomer Chris Pine. The film received mixed reviews; with critics pointing it out for being too much like The Matrix and for some differences from the source material. But most praised the performance of Pine's portrayal as the Man of Steel.
