Clark Kent has been acting as Superman for five years, winning the love of the people of Metropolis and the entire world. However, not everyone sees him as a good person. Lex Luthor, one of the most intelligent and powerful men in the world, sees Superman as a threat and plans to overthrow the Kryptonian. During an experiment, he accidentally opens a rift to the Phantom Zone, from which the Kryptonian Zod escapes. Now Superman must confront the threat that Zod represents to him and the people of Metropolis, while discovering more about Krypton and his parents.
