After a strange Orb fuses with him in 2002, he gains enhanced strength, speed, agility, durability, and energy manipulation, along with a sleek black-and-purple suit whose expressive, cartoon-like eyes make him feel more alien than human. As Superhuman, Jacob becomes reckless, witty, and confident—the opposite of his moody, awkward self. But his powers come with limits, leaving him drained and frustrated when he pushes too far. Torn between the kid he is and the hero he’s supposed to be, Jacob struggles to control his temper and decide whether the Orb is a gift or a curse.
