After the events on Exegol, the galaxy has been on a slow track back to normalcy. While Finn and Poe assist the Resistance in restoring balance, Rey is traveling through the galaxy to train a new wave of Jedi and perhaps, eventually, create a new Jedi Council. However, this short period of peace is interrupted when a dark, robotic Sith Lord has been wrecking havoc on planets near the unknown region.
