A World War II soldier who was exposed to the super soldier serum, turning him into a national and patriotic hero, managing to do several feats fighting against the Axis, and then being cryogenized and reaching the present day, where he joined the Avengers to combat major threats and fight in the ranks of SHIELD against the neo-Nazi terrorist organization known as Hydra. Due to his ideals of freedom and leadership, he manages to get along with everyone, being a great friend of Spiderman.
