Carmichael is a seemingly normal guy that has a few moments in the story and gives some advice to Peter at one point about how important loved ones are. clues throughout the film would point to him being involved with the case and it turns out he sabotaged the DNAmachine in an attempt to kill Norman for recompense for "past incidents" that he was responsible for. When Screwball finds out that he was responsible for Harry's death she tries to murder him but is stopped by Spider-Man. But when Screwball nearly kills Peter's loved ones the two start battling to the death until Ben reminds Peter about responsibility. Carmichael tries to escape but he is arrested by Captain George Stacy.
