Based in the state of Nevada, Death himself is a headmaster of a special school training students to fight and neutralize evil monsters using the power of their souls to synch with supernatural beings who can turn into weapons. These students' main goal is to evolve their weapon to the Death Scythe status, which requires them to consume the souls of 99 evil humans, and the soul of one Witch. Amid three groups of students' journeys to reach this goal, there lies a league of evil beings seeking to reawaken an ancient evil called the Kishin, seeking to drive the world into Madness.
