The game's story follows Sonic, Tails, & Knuckles, aided by their former enemy Shadow and an alternate-dimension counterpart of Sonic's old girlfriend Sally as they recover the all-powerful Quantum Masks in a bid to prevent Doctor Eggman and The Clock King from enslaving the multiverse.
