Meanwhile Sonic was going for a run and went exploring, a 17 year old Ben Tennyson showed up with his cousin Gwen Tennyson, his partner Rook Blonko and his Best friend Kevin Levin. And then after they got to know each other for a while, they found out the city was attacked and then they started working together to save the citizens of Station Square. After they defeated one of Eggman's robots, Ben Gwen Kevin and Rook accepted to join Team Sonic
