After strange floods and massive energy surges strike cities around the world, Sonic and his friends uncover the legend of Chaos, an ancient being tied to the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald. When Dr. Robotnik attempts to control Chaos and push its power beyond its limits, Sonic is forced into a battle where speed alone is not enough, and stopping a global catastrophe means facing the true cost of unchecked power.
