Sonic Prime is described as a "high octane adventure" and a "journey of self-discovery and redemption" following Sonic and his race to save a "strange new multiverse."A fierce battle between Sonic the Hedgehog and Dr. Eggman results in a universe-shattering event which prompts Sonic to set off on a quest to restore the Shatterverse and save his friends, whom up until the moment he had taken for granted. Along the way, Sonic discovers both new worlds and new allies. The new trailer shows more of the plot: After a fight against Eggman, Sonic accidently destroys the Paradox Prism causing him to be sent to another universe, where he discovers that in this universe he doesn't exist, here "The Chaos Council" an evil group of five versions of Eggman that come from alternate dimensions rule with an iron fist, Sonic alongside alternate versions of his friends must work together to prevent the Council attempt to take control of the Shatterspaces and Sonic to find a way back home.
