But, unlike other mushrooms, Nightcap hails from the mystical Duskgloom Woods, home to some of the strangest dark element magics Skylands holds thanks to the rays of the twin moons that reflect on it. Constant exposure to this magic lead to Nightcap's natural ink becoming a powerful toxin, and Nightcap herself gaining sentience! With her newfound sentience, she soon grew bored of life in the woods and struck it out on her own, which led to her meeting Shroomboom, who recognized her powers and brought her into the Skylanders' ranks.
