After receiving a letter from his wife—Mary, who died three years ago—James Sunderland travels to the abandoned town of Silent Hill, a place they once visited together. The town is empty. Choked with fog. Silent—except for the sound of James’s footsteps and the distant scrape of something metal dragging through the streets. The town does not attack James at random. It reflects him.
