After his noble sacrifice, Shadow finds himself trapped in a parallel dimension, where Earth is invaded by an alien race led by Black Doom, who seems to have a history with Shadow. Shadow tries to defeat Black Doom, teaming up with a rebellion led by former G.U.N. soldiers.
